ello and welcome to my webpage.  Well as if you didn't know already, my name is Ruth. I live with my mum, Melanie and sister Eleanor in a city called Derby.  I love living here as I have a few friends and most of my family are nearby too. Apart from little Grandpa who lives in Seattle.

                                        On the 'Strip' at night!

My interests are varied,  I love reading, writing short pieces of literature, caring for animals and of course chatting with close friends and family.  My  interest in writing developed at an early age and I wrote my first story at the age of 10.  I also like listening to music and singing, (in the privacy of my own bedroom may I add.)

I have left college now and work for a large pharmacy based in the U.K. I have a boyfriend called Alex, who is just a wee bit younger than me and is hoping to get into the police shortly.

I am learning to drive at the moment, Melanie says she will keep off the road when I have my lessons! [though I know she is only joking as she has ever confidence in me, after all I should take after her and pass my test first time!]

Two years ago I visited Nannan in Arizona, taking my friend who I have known since early childhood,  Zoë. We had a wonderful time although it was very hot at the time we went.  We spent almost three weeks over there and at the end of it, we didn’t want to leave, having become accustomed to the territory!  Needless to say we did all sorts of interesting things whilst we were there.

We 'did' the Grand Canyon on the second day and of course the 'girly thing' . . .  plenty of shopping for clothes!  We also spent a couple of days in Las Vegas, Nevada,  stopping off at the Hoover Dam on the way so Zoë could get some unusual pictures.  Being Zoë’s first time to the United States, I had the pleasure of taking her on a guided tour of the the Las Vegas strip and 'all' of the themed hotels [My feet were killing me!].  The drive from Arizona to Las Vegas took about 5 hours,   leaving the house at 6am to avoid the terrific heat of the afternoon.  It was a long journey and the road seemed endless,  but it was well worth the tedious trek as we had such an amazing time.

Nannan had to move back to England last year, but I hope to be visiting Grandpa again soon.
